PODDAR FAMILY - A Highly Cultured, Well Educated And Well Known Family Of India - is related to Late Seth Shri JORAVARMALJI PODDAR of BISSAU, State : Rajasthan, (India). At present this family has taken a form of BIG TREE, having a total members of about 377 as per "Family Tree" published by Shri Shyamsunderji Poddar on Diwali, 1998.

Late Joravarmalji Poddar was an well established famous businessman of India, who originally came from BISAU in State Rajasthan (India). He was the Root of today's this big family tree. Seth Shri Joravarmalji Poddar, became the father of 11 sons due to the boon of one famous sage saint in BISAU, Rajasthan. Those 11 Sons are the "Branches" of this big family tree at today and between members of Poddar Family are well known as 11 brothers of Poddar Family. At present most of them are residing at City "NAGPUR" And "MUMBAI", State : Maharashtra (India). Previously the members of this family were engaged only to the Business, Trading and Industrial activity only. But now they are involved in Business, Industries, Services, Professionals, Consultancy etc.

PODDAR FAMILY - is well engaged in the hindu religious activity and social work. The Example of this is an "Ram Mandir".  PODDARESHWAR RAM MANDIR, a very big, well managed & famous Hindu Religious Temple of god RAM and SHIVA, situated in Central India i.e. at Nagpur City, is today described as the proud of Nagpur City. Constructed in the year 1923, i.e. on 28/02/1923 by an famous businessman of India of  that time, Shri Jamnadhar Poddar, who related to an big, well cultured, Religious family of   Bisau (Rajasthan), this temple has now completed his 84 years of age as on date  28/02/2007. Shri Jamnadhar Poddar was involved in the business of distribution of Cloth  manufactured in famous cloth mill of that time, i.e. "Empress Mill", which was run by Sir J.N.  TATA. The sudden demise of his alone son Mohanlal in his youth time, has socked   Jamnadhar too much. This moment was the turning point of Late Shri Jamnadhar Poddar's   Life. Now he started giving much time towards religious activities and this was the moment,  when he decided to construct a very big & beautiful Temple and thus the Temple  came into existence on 28/02/1923. The temple is well managed by an board of Trustees, headed by its Managing Trustee, an famous social & religious worker from Nagpur City, i.e. Shree Ramkrishna Poddar. One of the famous activity of this temple is an very big, well managed and beautiful Ram Janmotsav Shobhayatra procession, taken out on the occasion of "Ram-navami".
